We wrapped up the voting Sunday night and Elizabeth's Cafe at 885 Boston Post Road, Madison, CT came in first with 61 votes, and , right around the corner at 8 Scotland Avenue, came in second with 43.

"That's so cool!" said Peggy Falk, one of the cafe managers. "We are romantic. You know, it is. First of all, we have this lovely, low highlighting. We have candles at every table at night. We have a romantic old building, with low ceilings that make it so cosy. There are a couple of tables that are very intimate. Our staff is fabulous, we bend over backwards for people. We give them special attention without hovering. It's like a little club."
Elizabeth's is mostly sold out for Valentine's Day, on Tuesday, but they did have just a few more openings as of noon on Monday, around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Executive Chef Edgar Jara will be offering specials for Valentine's Day that include Creamy Maine Lobster Bisque, Yukon gold Potato Blinis, Grilled Filet Mignon, Maine Lobster Vol-au-Vent, Pan Seared Wild King Salmon, and Diver Sea Scallops. Desserts? Of course. Pastry Chef Donna Seward will help prepare Red Velvet Cheesecake, Crepes Bananas Foster, Dulce de Leche Chocolate Fondue for Two, Lady Godiva Parfaits, and Raspberry Souffle, among others.
"We love what we do and I think it shows," Falk said.
