Get ready for a fun weekend in Madison with plenty of activities!

The Holidays REALLY begin this weekend as Madison welcomes Santa Claus to town!  Many events are taking place, but of course I'll highlight OURS first! 
Come to the Madison Chamber of Commerce's annual  Santa Paws parade, Sunday, December 2 at 2pm.  The theme for this year's parade is ANIMALS and everyone is encouraged to march (or ride) with their pets!  This event brings the entire town together, young and old, as we herald in the holiday season in Madison.

Holiday Fair season is in full swing this weekend, complementing
our beautiful Madison Chamber shops:
  The Deacon John Grave House Holiday Faire will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6pm. There will again some great vendors including a fabulous folk artist with quite beautiful paintings.  The shopping is quite enjoyable with the fire blazing and a great cozy environment. This event is a fundraiser for the Grave House (including a repair t their beautiful cedar roof). Please stop by the Grave House - 581 Boston Post Road

St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy Street, is featuring "Decor Encore" - previously owned Christmas decorations that have been revived and rejuvenated and available at great prices.  The fair will also feature beautiful handmade quilts for sale.  Hours are Saturday, Dec. 1, 10:30-4:00
and Sunday Dec. 2 from 8:30 to 1:30.

North Madison Congregational Church, located at the traffic circle of Routes 79 and 80 in Madison, is pleased to welcome shoppers to its 18th annual Craft Fair Saturday from 9 to 2.  It's a great one-stop holiday shopping destination featuring scores of quality artisans, a Bistro, over 4,000 homemade holiday cookies, and gifts.  Mark your calendars and plan to attend this festive event. 

St. Andrew's Church 23rd Annual Christmas Fair takes place Saturday from 9 to 3, featuring Theme Baskets, Attic Treasures, Basement Bargains, Bea's Bake Shop, Books of all kinds, Bottle Shop, Christmas Shop, Jewelry, Accessories, Toys and Games, homemade handcrafts, fabulous food, pictures with Santa and much more.  They're located at 232 Durham Road, Madison.

Gotta Dance!  Mistletoe and Music Holiday Ballroom Dance. Sunday, December 2, 4-7PM at the American Legion 43 Bradley Rd. Madison. Music by ballroom DJ "Sounds Alive". Black tie encouraged. Carry-in Supper. BYOL. For reservations and Information, please call 203 245-7662,

Have you noticed how pretty downtown Madison is looking?  You can thank the Madison Chamber's Image Committee  for encouraging the use of fresh greenery in this year's Holiday decorating.  They're sponsoring a door decorating contest, with the help of the Garden Club of Madison for both downtown and the existing and proposed historic districts.  For more information, please click here.
The Women's Club of Madison is busy, busy, busy!
They are sponsoring Santa mailboxes again this year, which will be located at the Stop and Shop and Robert's Food Center from November 26 through December 20.  Each child who sends his or her letter to Santa will receive a reply from him.  Each letter must include a self-addressed stamped envelope. 
The Women's Club is also selling beautiful Poinsettias and balsam wreaths this year, as a fundraiser for their generous community projects.  By December 5, please call 203-245-0706 to order.  Orders can be picked up at the Senior Center on Saturday, Dec. 8, 12 to 1 pm or at the Women's Club meeting at the Senior Center on Tuesday Dec 11th 6:30 to 9:00 pm.

Remember, Friends of Hammonasset is selling Christmas trees every day from 9am to 5pm, just east of the Park entrance on Route One. Please stop by to support this great organization!
