AP report: 100-120 Kmart and Sears stores to close

Locations not yet named; will Waterford store remain open?

 

Sears Holdings Corp. plans to close between 100 and 120 Sears and Kmart stores after poor sales during the holidays, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Sears Holdings (SHLD) said it has yet to determine which stores will close but said it will post the list on http://www.searsmedia.com. Sears would not discuss how many, if any, jobs would be cut, the AP reported.

 is one of the anchor stores at the Crystal Mall. In Connecticut, there are Sears stores in Meriden, Manchester, Putnam, Waterford, West Hartford, Milford, and Waterbury, according to the Sears website.
