March For Change
Change the Conversation.  Change the Culture.  Change the Law.

March in Hartford on Thursday, February 14, 2013
to Demand Safer Gun Laws

On Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 11am-1pm, March For Change will hold a Rally at the Capitol in Hartford as a show of support for common sense gun laws in Connecticut, including a ban on high-capacity ammunition magazines.

March For Change is a bi-partisan, action-driven grassroots effort started by two Fairfield County area moms, Nancy Lefkowitz and Meg Staunton, following the December 14th shootings in Newtown, CT.  The mission of March For Change is the enactment of safer gun legislation in Connecticut. To that end, March for Change has partnered with Connecticut Against Gun Violence (CAGV), a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to reducing gun violence through public education and legislative advocacy in Connecticut since 1993.

If you would like to attend the Rally on a bus from Madison, please visit www.ctmomsonline.com/marchforchange to make a reservation and pay.  As time is of the essence if buses are going to be arranged for, interested persons must reserve a seat ASAP.  Ideally, people would travel from Madison to Hartford together on a bus or buses depending on numbers.  For those who wish to drive separately, they could carpool and caravan.

Recently there has been a resurgence in Abraham Lincoln as a brand - in books, movies, and commercials.  To put Lincoln's life and accomplishments into historical perspective, the Madison Republican Town Committee is hosting an essay contest, "What I admire about Abraham Lincoln."  The goal of this essay is to encourage students' development of thorough research skills that lead to a broad understanding of this historical figure and the events that influenced his life, our Nation, and future generations.
