New Vietnamese Restaurant Due To Open Mid-July On East Side Of Town

New business upstairs, Hot Stone Spa, is thrilled about new restaurant and is offering specials to help increase business to the building in the east end of town.

A new Vietnamese restaurant, Pho, is due to open in the middle of July, if all goes well, at 1306 Boston Post Road.

Doan Halleck, of Clinton, the owner, says she decided to open Pho because she loves to cook, and she loves food. This is her first restaurant.

"I just decided to go for it," she said.

She is teaming up with Hue Nguyen, who has worked at and run Vietnamese restaurants in Bridgeport, CT and in Saigon, Vietnam. "Real Vietnamese restaurants," Halleck said.

Halleck said the menu will include many different kinds of foods, including fried egg rolls, noodles, barbecue  and other items. There were also be a special menu of what she calls "exotic tonics," or heathy juice drinks that include ingredients like pineapple, mango, and papaya.

Lucy L. Louie, who runs the Hot Stone Spa right above the new restaurant, said she is thrilled there will be another tenant in the building, which also includes a long-time Madison favorite, Nuzzo's Pizza.

Louie said her business has been open for about two weeks and features deep tissue, shiatsu, and swedish massage by massage therapists licensed and in good standing with the state Department of Health.

Louie said she hopes to drive traffic to the building by offering specials including $80 for a one-hour couples massage, and a "ladies special" $40 for one hour, through August. "We want more women" as clients, she said.
