Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun Slots Tumble in November

Snowstorm, power outages and continued economic weakness take the blame

According to the Hartford Business Journal, Mohegan Sun slots revenue fell 4 percent, to its lowest amount in a decade, while the power was out in much of the state.

"At Mohegan Sun in November, the total bets placed, or handle, at slot machines was $669 million, down 4 percent from November 2010, the worst Mohegan slots handle since January 2002," the Business Journal says.

Foxwoods slots were down 6 percent from a year ago.

The casinos aren't feeling much of a pinch, however. According to the story, they have increased the percentage that they take from the bets. Mohegan Sun's take from those bets was down only 1 percent from a year ago, the story says.
