Donald Craft Receives Prestigious Industry Award

On September 19, 2013, the Connecticut Energy Marketers Association (CEMA) presented its first Lifetime Achievement Award to Donald B. Craft, of Madison, for 53 years of service to his industry.  Craft has served as a leader, mentor and inspiration to generations of oil heat marketers since he first started with Wyatt Energy in 1960.  Since then he has worked for Petroleum Heat and Power, Global Petroleum, Citizens Bank, and most recently until his retirement earlier this year, with Gulf Oil, L.P.  He served as the president of the Connecticut Petroleum Association in 1970-71, and received the industry’s highest award, Marketer of the Year, in 1972.  He was a director of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America from 1974-2013, and a director of the New England Fuel Institute from 1965-2013, as well as its past president.  He continues to serve as an Emeritus Director of CEMA and chairs its Nominating Committee.  CEMA represents small businesses that market and distribute heating oil, propane, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and biofuels in Connecticut.
