Learn How Your Business Can Benefit From Employing A Veteran In Need

The Madison, Guilford and Clinton Chambers of Commerce will host a presentation at The Hearth at Tuxis Pond, 100 Bradley Road, Madison, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28th.

The Madison, Guilford and Clinton Chambers of Commerce will host a presentation by representatives of the Connecticut Healthcare System’s Errera Community Care Center regarding employment outreach for veterans in need.

The Errera Center, located in West Haven, serves veterans struggling with homelessness, mental disorders (such as PTSD), substance abuse and/or aging by providing community-based rehabilitative programs including vocational and housing assistance.  Connecticut’s homeless veteran population includes young servicemen and women who served our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Attendees will learn about the homeless veteran issue in Connecticut, as well as homelessness outreach and advocacy, and treatment and housing initiatives.  Attendees will hear more specifically about the vocational training veterans receive at the Errera Center, the employment capabilities of these veterans, and the potential benefits to employers who hire a veteran in need.
