The Autumnal Equinox is this Saturday!  Crisp evenings and sunny days herald in this beautiful season in our beautiful town.  Here are a few events to keep you busy before it's time to put away the lawnmower
and get out the rake!



HUGE SALE to benefit Madison ABC's ACT II Thrift Shop will be held at 82 Edinburgh Lane, Madison this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 21-23) from 9 am to 4pm
An amazing Americana collection of 50 years being sold, including antique tools, large coffee grinders, tin, cast iron, crocks, glass, yellow ware, lanterns, storage boxes, cabinets, baskets, furniture and more.  Click here for map & directions.

This evening at 6pm at the flagpole at the
 Madison Town Green, please attend a

respectful ceremony complete with prayers , readings and patriotic singing to honor our Prisoners of War and Missing in Action Soldiers.

Parade of Pooches - Woof!  Is your dog the oldest? the tallest? have the longest tail? smallest paws? Join us for some dog-gone fun and support your favorite library! Friends of Scranton Library invite you and your pooch to the PARADE OF POOCHES Dog Show to be held - rain or shine - 9am on Saturday September 22nd on the Madison Green. All leashed dogs are welcome.  $8 per dog to enter.  Registration at 9am - judging ends at 10am.  All breeds including 'designer dogs' are welcome. Do you Dig Clams? 
The Madison Shellfish Commission is sponsoring its End of the Summer Clam Dig and Oyster Harvest Saturday, September 22 at 10am at the Surf Club on Garvan Point. This event will feature Madison-Raised Oysters that will be stocked in the beach area along with Little Neck Clams and Cherrystones. This is a family event with a special section designated for small children. Prizes will be awarded to the lucky individuals that find painted clams. No experience is needed, members of the commission will supply clam rakes and will demonstrate clamming techniques to beginners. A shellfish license is required and can be purchased on site at the Surf Club on the day of the event. Licences are also sold at the Town Campus and Captain Morgan's. For out of town visitors, special one day $25 passes will be available on the day of the event at the Surf Club. This event is weather permitting, check the Shellfish hot line at 245-5600 option 3 for conditions. Parking area at the Surf Club will be open for this event.
