Price range: $3 to $15

Take out:  The sandwiches are served wrapped in aluminum foil, so they can easily be ordered to go – but you’d have to be in a big hurry to pass up the view from the picnic tables.

Kid-friendly:  Definitely.

Why you should go right now:  A sunny afternoon, warm but dry, seemed like the perfect time for an early dinner by the water, so we headed for this lobster shack near the Clinton marinas. Maybe “shack” isn’t the proper term since Lobster Landing is housed in a tent, but who needs to nitpick when the lobster is this good? Customers place their orders, pick up bags of chips and cold drinks from coolers and choose their table, either shaded by the tent or open to the sunny sky. The staff brings the sandwiches, wrapped in aluminum foil, to your table. At $15, the lobster roll isn’t cheap, but it’s a treat – big chunks of sweet lobster drizzled with melted butter stuffs a soft roll.  Sweet Italian sausage gets a topping of sautéed onions and peppers, while the hot dog is heaped with sauerkraut and a topping of cheese. Lobster Landing closes at 6 on weekdays and at 7 on Friday and Saturday. Enjoy the view.
