At The Corner Of Parker Avenue And West Wharf On A Sunny Friday Afternoon [Video]

Someone called to say it was crazy busy down around the Madison Beach Hotel, so I went down to take a look.

Someone called Friday around noon to say things were crazy busy around Madison Beach Hotel and that traffic was a mess, what with the trucks, the people going into the hotel, the people going to the town-owned beach at West Wharf, construction work on Parker Avenue, and the regular traffic on Parker Avenue, which is a residential neighborhood.

I couldn't get down there until around 2 p.m. The West Wharf Beach municipal parking lot was just about full, although there was always at least one spot open.  There were about 11 people with Madison beach tags, the rest of the about 30 spaces did not have them.

There was a big truck parked behind the hotel when we got there, and it left about 15 to 20 minutes later. While it was parked there, just behind a stop sign, several trucks and cars passed it, and with barely a suggestion of making a full stop at the stop sign, made a left turn onto West Wharf.

I have a call into Madison Beach Hotel officials to find out what kind of steps they are taking to educate their vendors about the best way to operate safely on a residential street like Parker Avenue. I put in the call late Friday. I'll let you know what I hear back.
