Madison's Doug Levine becomes an Eagle Scout

Boy Scout Troop 491 is proud to announce Douglas Levine has earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  Doug, son of Laurie and Steven Levine of Madison, was awarded the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts of America offers on June 30th.      Doug was honored with a ceremony at Madison’s American Legion Hall with family, friends, and fellow scouts present.

Douglas earned 27 merit badges, served as a leader in his scout troop and completed a community-service project on his “Trail to Eagle.”  Under Doug’s direction, a team of scout and adult volunteers removed overgrown shrubbery, planned, constructed and installed two benches and a sign board, and created a rest area along the new bike trail at Rockland Preserve in North Madison.

Doug joins other outstanding American citizens who have become Eagle Scouts, among them astronaut Neil A. Armstrong and cinematographer Steven Spielberg.    Doug, a  recently graduated of Daniel Hand High School will attend Brandeis University this fall.
