Learning how to play the drums has been one of the items on my bucket list ever since I watched Mary Stuart Masterson play her kit in the movie "Some Kind of Wonderful." Something about the physical nature of pounding out a beat really appeals to me. Turns out research has shown drumming can reduce stress, improve your health, and when done in a group build personal connections.
Tomorrow (Sunday, January 27th) at 2 p.m. the Scranton Library is pleased to offer the interactive program "Drumming About You" presented by professional drumming instructor and performer Bob Bloom. Bob is bringing a colorful cargo of percussion instruments so everyone, kids to grandparents, can experience the wonders of drumming during this humorous and high-energy performance.
This program is free and open to all ages so come inside, beat the winter blues, and take a drum ride as Bob Bloom drives the highest octane songs that Madison will ever hear and play. Register online at www.scrantonlibrary.org/events or call the Library at (203) 245-7365.
