"Birds of Winter," "Our Town" at The Kate, High Hopes Benefit Concert

Birds of Winter:

Bring your little ones and learn about how all kinds of birds adapt to this freezing, winter weather! “Birds of Winter,” a Madison Beach & Recreation program at Bauer Park, will hold two hour-long sessions on Friday for ages 3 to 5. The first will be at 10 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m. Cost for the event is $8. If you can’t make this program, check the Beach & Recreation website for upcoming Bauer Park events!

The Saybrook Stage Company presents Our Town by Thornton Wilder this weekend at The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. The play, about a classic New England town in New Hampshire, will have 8 p.m. productions on both Friday and Saturday, followed by a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children.

Yale Whiffenpoofs in Concert to Benefit High Hopes:

The Yale Whiffenpoofs will perform a benefit concert on Sunday at the First Church of Christ in Old Saybrook at 3:30 p.m. High Hopes is a center for therapeutic horseback riding located in Old Lyme. A reception catered by Aspen Restaurant will follow at the Saybrook Country Barn. Tickets and further details are available online
