This Weekend: Home for the Holidays Boutique, Friends of Hammonasset Christmas Tree Sale

This weekend is all about the holidays—and we’re not kidding. While turkey may be the first thing on your mind, understandably, we have plenty more festive activities for you to enjoy. We’ve got your shopping fix, craft fairs, Christmas tree sales, charity opportunities and more stuffed into our weekend planner. So here’s the bottom line—do a little shopping, fit in some holiday fun and eat a whole lot of stuffing.

WHERE/WHEN: This weekend at Clinton Crossing.

WHY GO: It’s time for Midnight Madness sales at the shops—but check the schedule because some stores open as early as 9 p.m. on Thursday. Purchase a gift for a child in need with the through Dec. 19. And don’t miss the strolling carolers!

PRICING: There is no charge for Secret Santa or carolers. But definitely bring your wallet for shopping!

WHERE/WHEN: Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Madison.

WHY GO: It’s socially acceptable to start your holiday shopping now.

PRICING: Admission is free.

FRIENDS OF HAMMONASSET CHRISTMAS TREE SALE

WHERE/WHEN: Sale kicks off on Friday and is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sale runs through Dec. 19.

WHY GO: Pick out your tree after a delicious Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich!

PRICING: Trees range from $35 to $55 each. Proceeds benefit Meigs Point Nature Center activities and other Hammonasset programs.

WHERE/WHEN: Collection begins Friday and runs through Dec. 19 at the Clinton Police Department and Milone Chiropractic Center.

WHY GO: Your donation of an unwrapped toy or gift card will make someone’s Christmas a whole lot brighter!

PRICING: No charge to participate.

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at .

WHY GO: Clear a little room in your closet and make prom a whole lot more affordable for some deserving high school students.

PRICING: No charge to participate in collection. Sale will be held in the spring.

: Since you’ll be cleaning out your closets anyway, drop off coats at H. Pearce Real Estate offices in Clinton or Guilford through Nov. 30.

ESSEX STEAM TRAIN SANTA RIDE: Rides run at 1 and 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this weekend.
