This Weekend: Living Nativity and Holiday Concerts

Don't miss the holiday events for kids at R.J. Julia, "Mrs. Claus in Menopause" and more!

 

Have you decked your halls? Finished your shopping yet? Bake any cookies? Well, hopefully you have, because you won’t have much free time this weekend. Yeah, we know there’s lots of holiday-ness going on, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to overload you with more happenings! It’s what we do. So check out our list of local events going on this weekend and see what fits into your schedule!

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church, 9 Britton Lane, Madison.

WHY GO: The Living Nativity is the story of the birth of the Christ Child presented by church actors.

PRICING: Free

WHERE/WHEN: Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at Clinton Town Hall.  

WHY GO: Oh, please. It’s a holiday classic.

PRICING: Tickets are $10 per person.

AND HOLIDAY CRAFT EVENTS

WHERE/WHEN: Storytime and caroling will be held at R.J. Julia on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

WHY GO: The fun continues later in the weekend with Hanukkah Craft and Storytime on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and Christmas Craft and Storytime on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

PRICING: These events are free, but please reserve your spot!

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday at 3 p.m. at Killingworth’s Old Town Hall.

WHY GO: The show’s going to be hot, hot, hot!

PRICING: Tickets are $15 each and support the Old Town Hall Restoration Project.

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Madison.

WHY GO: Other than the wide assortment of performers, the proceeds benefit the Madison Foundation’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund.

PRICING: General admission is $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Kids under 12 get in free with a non-perishable food item or $5.

WHERE/WHEN: Show will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Madison.

WHY GO: Just because you can listen to Christmas music day-in and day-out on the radio, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spice it up a bit.

PRICING: Tickets are $30 and $45 for adults and $10 for kids.

  • Saturday – John Condie at Ballou’s at 8 p.m., Hit List at  at 9:30 p.m.

SINGER-SONGWRITER SERIES AT : Dan Stevens performs Saturday and the Nicole Frechette Duo on Sunday. Live music is in the tasting room from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Cover is $10 and includes a glass of wine.

THIS WEEKEND AT THE KATE: Ken Waldman & the Secret Visitors on Friday at 8 p.m., Occidental Gypsy on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Cappella Cantorum Messiah Sing-Along on Sunday at 4 p.m.
