Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Christmas in Rockefeller Center, Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Tonight's TV Tips

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, 8 p.m., CBS

Those who know me know that I adore this time of year. You can't swing a cat in my house without knocking over a ceramic Santa or a singing-and-dancing elf. And the treasure trove that is television! For my new Patch friends, you will either share my joy or want to punch me in the face. Either way, it's all good. Tis the season, right? Anyway, even the Scroogiest Scrooge has to smile when he or she sees this on the TV listings grid. Come on! Say it with me: "Bumbles bounce!"

Now this, on the other hand, makes me a little Scrooge-ish, since it really is one big ad for NBC crapola that they will be ferrying out, plus no one should witness this much lip-synching in one sitting. "The 78th annual tree-lighting ceremony takes place in New York; scheduled performers include Susan Boyle, Mariah Carey, Sheryl Crow, Jackie Evancho, Josh Groban, Annie Lennox, Kylie Minogue and Jessica Simpson; Natalie Morales and Al Roker host."

Shut up! It's like Christmas has already come, and it's only Nov. 30! This is the original kids, not the horrendous Jim Carrey debacle that can give you seizures if you aren't careful. Say it with me: "Santy Claus, why? Why are you taking our Christmas tree? Why?"
