Rosh Hashanah Story Time And Crafts, Quick Recipes, Award Winning Pies On The Schedule At RJ Julia

A Rosh Hashanah storytime and craft event, pies, quick calorie cutting recipes, and a new book from Laini Taylor are on the schedule at

  • Saskia Swenson Moss from G.N.H.J.C.C. is doing a Rosh Hashanah storytime and craft event, Monday, Sept. 26 at 4:00 p.m., $5 fee at RJ Julia Booksellers.
  • Michele Stuart: Perfect Pies.  Michele Stuart is the owner and pastry chef of Michele’s Pies in Norwalk and Westport, Connecticut. Her pies have earned her twenty-six National Pie Championships Awards—mostly first place—in a range of categories. Stuart and her pies have been featured in The New York Times, and on Good Morning America and the Food Network, among other media outlets. She’s also been a vendor at the Madison Farmer’s Market in previous years. Tuesday: Sept.  27 2011, at R.J. Julia Booksellers, free, 7 p.m. 
  • Rocco DiSpirito Now Eat This: 100 Quick Calorie Cuts at Home is a follow-up to the author's popular Now Eat This! cookbook, this volume offers an uncomplicated plan for cutting calories and losing weight featuring 75 new, tasty recipes. On June 15, 2011, DiSpirito debuted as host of a weekly radio TV cooking competition called Rocco's Dinner Party, on Bravo TV, on Friday,  Sept. 30, 2011, at RJ Julia Booksellers, $5 fee, 7 p.m.
  • Laini Taylor: Daughter of Smoke & Bone. Join Laini Taylor for a reading, question and answer, and signing session for her new book, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, RJ Julia Booksellers, free, at 6 p.m.
