Get Out Of Town? No Need To This Weekend!

Tonight - Rain or Shine (there will be tents) Thursday, September 22, starting at 6pm, head downtown and enjoy a "Street Fair" atmosphere as The Exchange Club of Madison presents. Madison Arts Night on the main block of the Boston Post Road.  Beginning this afternoon at 3pm, the street will be closed to traffic in order to make way for pedestrians and attendees of this great event benefitting the Exchange Club's Child Abuse Prevention programs.  Enjoy a night out for fine food, wine and a choice of two classic movies.

The Women's Club of Madison is hosting a wine tasting at the Winter Club on Friday, September 23 from 6-8. to benefit the Madison Food Pantry. It will include many new wines, an art exhibit, a silent auction for an original Joan McPherson painting and promises to be a fun night.  All of the food and wine has been donated, so all money made on ticket sales will go directly to the Food Pantry..  Tickets are $25 and available at the door.  Please support this worthy cause.

The annual "British Cars on the Madison Green" takes place Saturday,  September 24th from  9:30 to 4pm. The event features great classic British cars (you'll be asking yourself: WHY did I sell my Triumph?) two food vendors and live music.  Sponsored by Jaguar Clubs of Southern New England and the MG Club, this event is free and open to the public.   

 

Keep in mind these events coming in October:

Hammonassett Festival at Hammonnasset State Park.  (www.hammonasset.org). Oct. 1 -2 rain or shine. Admission $5, children under 10 free.  Celebrate Native American culture with music by Grammy-Award winning flutist Joseph Fire Crow, the Erin Meeches Native Nations Dance Troup, exhibits from museums, crafts, food, a demonstration of atlatl (spear) use, and more. No pets, please.

MADISON ROTARY'S 23rd ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC  will take place on Monday, October 3 at the Gary Player Course at the Lyman Orchard Golf Club in Middlefield (rescheduled date & location).  The tournament will kick off with registration at 10:30am, lunch at 11 and a noon tee time.  After 18 holes, golfers will be served complimentary cocktails and dinner.
