Go See A Sea Of Sunflowers

Another in our daily series of fun stuff to do with the kids this summer!

At Buttonwood Farm in Griswold, it's sunflower season, and it is worth a drive from anywhere in the state.

The farm plants acres and acres of sunflowers every year, and even little kids love looking at them, or taking a ride through a field of sunflowers.

It's a sight you'll remember forever, and makes a great photo, too, with the kids in the front and sunflowers behind them for nearly as far as the eye can see.

You can buy the sunflowers and bring them home, and if you do, you're helping the Make-A-Wish Foundation. And bringing beautiful sunflowers home with you!

And finally, there is the famous Buttonwood Farm homemade ice cream. It is some of the best in Connecticut, and many would say it is THE best. There is always a line in the summer, but it moves quickly and it's worth the wait.

Don't delay on this one! The sunflowers last through the end of July, but every day, more are cut.
