Concert on the Madison Green

Madison Cultural Arts presents the 30th Annual Concert on the Green sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank, on Saturday, June 30, 2012 on the Madison Town Green.

The concert starts at 5:00 PM with the Shoreline Youth Symphony Orchestra.  The popular Manchester Pipe Band plays at 6:15 PM.  At 7:00 PM the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra takes the stage with “Americana” performing selections from Aaron Copland to Scott Joplin to Leroy Anderson and all the way to fiddling and ukulele tunes.  Special guest performer Jim Beloff, America’s ukulele author, arranger and performer will play with the orchestra and in solo in a Madison Green sing-a-long. Along with all the patriotic pieces that are always part of the concert, a descendant of Mr. Cohan’s will conduct the George M. Cohan finale!

Admission is free, with limited reserved seating areas closer to the stage for concert patrons who donate $60 or more.  MCA’s lease with the First Congregational Church of Madison for use of the Green stipulates that the concert be an alcohol-free event and that space cannot be reserved on the Green prior to 6:00 AM on June 30th.
