Viewfinder: Sunset At West Wharf Beach

On a recent visit to West Wharf Beach we found sunset watchers crossing paths with runners, bikers and kayakers as the magnetism of the beach pulled them all to the same place, if only for a few minutes.

 We found one couple enjoying the view after paddling kayaks from Clinton, a local resident on an after work bike ride and a woman on leave from the serivce winding down from a late run.  Hearing laughter from a pair of parked cars, we found two women enjoying friendly conversation with a retired man whom they got to know because they all came to the same spot for the same reason day after day.

As the sky turned a deeper blue while the sun fell below the horizon we couldn't help but think that sunset at the beach may not be the latest in high tech entertainment, but it sure does have a loyal following of fans. And the price is right too.
