Join in a book discussion of “The New Jim Crow” at Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Society, 297 Boston Post Road, Madison CT, Thursday, December 13th at 4 pm and Friday, December 14th at 7 pm. Free and open to the public.
“The New Jim Crow” by Michelle Alexander helps to unmask the systemic racism within our criminal justice system. The book delves into history, statistics, and case studies that showcases the impact racism is still having on our country. The discussion will be led by Devon McCormick, a masters student at Starr King School for the Ministry and intern for the Anti-Racist Alliance of NYC.
Reading the book is not a prerequisite to join the conversation.
