Snow Much Fun! (But It's Slippery Out There Today, Be Careful Driving!)

Wherein Mac, Lilly, Mavis, Cecilia, Seve, and Chase take advantage of Tuesday's snow day. As for Wednesday, be careful, it's slick out there. And here's the weather forecast for the rest of the week. There may be sun.

In an era when even an innocent pastime like a snowball fight can get out of hand (can you say snowbrawl fight?), it was fun to see the kids in my neighborhood enjoying it with good manners, good humor, and lots of giggling.

What did the kids in your neighborhood do for fun on their snow day?

Let us know by posting it on our boards or blogs!

The snowfall Tuesday, combined with snowmelt, and then freezing temperatures overnight has contributed to slick conditions for the morning commute Wednesday, says the National Weather Service:

"Residual moisture left on roads and walkways from yesterday's light snowfall event has frozen over with temperatures now below freezing across the area," the NWS said at 1 a.m. Wednesday. "A thin sheet of ice is likely on any untreated surfaces resulting in slick conditions. Be alert and use extra caution while driving."

Here is the extended forecast for the rest of the week, asa of 5:30 a.m. Wednesday:

My 16-year-old daughter came into my bedroom at 5:15 AM to wake me to say I can turn off my alarm clock, obviously not set for THAT early a time, because schools are closed. She said she woke up early to see if she had to go today. Why don't teens wake up that early every day!
