Madison Mother's Day Guide

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 12th.

Madison Beach Hotel has a Mother's Day buffet brunch planned from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For reservations, call 203-350-0014. 

Other local favorites for Mother's Day include Splash in nearby Guilford, Elizabeth's Cafe, and Bar Bouchee. 

Going for a hike or hanging out on the beach is often a favorite Mother's Day activity in Madison, since we have so many great beaches and hiking trails. The weather for this coming Sunday at this point looks like it will be rainy, but that could change. If you and your mom are the outdoor type, get your raincoats and rain boots at the ready, and keep an eye on the weather. 

Maggie's of Madison, in downtown Madison, is having a special Mother's Day Facebook promotion. Go to their Facebook page, tell them why you love your mom and you'll be entered for a chance to win a Mariposa Sueno service tray. 

When it comes to shopping for a gift, most of the stores downtown have options that might work, including tea at Savvy Tea, jewelry at bellPerlina, books and gifts at R.J. Julia, and clothes at a wide variety of stores.

If you want to buy flowers and plants for mom's garden, there are lots of great garden shops in town. Also, the Friends of Hammonasset is having it's annual sale, which starts Wednesday at 9 a.m., just outside of the park entrance on Boston Post Road near the intersection of the Hammonasset Connector.
