From Madison Cares:
On Saturday, November 2, 2013 Madison Cares will celebrate its tenth
anniversary by hosting A Decade of
Building Community -- an evening filled with sights, sounds and images of
the last ten years and the nine Habitat homes built in New Haven by the
organization. The evening kicks off with
a cocktail hour at 6:30 followed by a plated dinner and program concluding with
music and dancing until 11:00 PM. A wide range of silent auction items and
selected live auction items will be available for bid by attendees. The program
will include a multimedia presentation honoring the volunteers and families
that have made these nine Habitat homes possible since Madison Cares was
founded in 2003.
The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of The Caring Award to three individuals who have made lasting and ongoing contributions to Madison Cares’ mission during the last decade. Finally, WTNH Anchor Ann Nyberg will honor several Shoreline organizations as they are entered into The Madison Cares Hall of Fame for their consistent financial and volunteer support over the years.
“This is going to be a wonderful evening celebrating the generosity and volunteer spirit of our Shoreline community. Because of this dedication and support, nine hard working and deserving families are living in their own homes and helping to build community in New Haven. We are looking forward to seeing our many friends and neighbors who have made this mission possible.”
