Thanks Ed. There are 6,515 households in Madison. 6,513 to go. (Not mine either ... ) Seriously ... thanks to the good citizen who sent this in. Glad the doggie has someone looking out for him/her while he/she locates his/her lost owner.

No. If the dog was properly registred, we would know whose its owner is

In Fence Creek? Where the hell is that? Connecticut? Oh only 900 miles from where I live. Why is this on my Patch?

Can't we try to simply help someone find their dog without everyone being snarky? This is a community page trying to help a lost dog. If this was your families dog you would be grateful for the post.

To the best of my knowledge our first selectman does not live on Fence Creek. The distance between Madison, CT and Madison, WI is approximately 1030.97 miles, so perhaps those of you who feel that the story is not of interest because it's in Madison, CT and not Madison, WI (if that is the issue here) are welcome to visit madison.patch.com. And thank you Darcy. Yes. Sometimes when I read the comments I feel that they accurately reflect our community, which includes many who are interested in supporting others. Other times I feel like they accurately reflect the twilight zone. =)

Joe, do you live in Wisconsin? How long have you been reading madison-ct.patch.com and thinking it's in Wisconsin? If that is the case ... you wouldn't be the first. I even once upon a time had a supervisor who made the same mistake. Briefly ... So many Patch's ... so little time.

Great point. Not sure if this dog was registered and slipped her/his collar, or never registered. For those of you who live in Madison and own a dog and have not yet registered it, this is a great example of why you should. Then, when Animal Control Officer Fran Fellows picks up a dog, she has something to go on. If she doesn't your doggie runs the risk of spending some time in the slammer aka the kennels on Copse Road. I know it's for the dog's safety, but I'm thinking most dogs might be pretty bummed out to spend a night or two there. So have a dog? Get it registered. http://www.madisonct.org/Clerk/forms/dogs.html
