Great Caesar's "Don't Ask Me Why" Perfect For MLK Day, And Every Day

Check out the work of these Daniel Hand High School grads. You might even recognize some of the spots where the video was shot.

If you were on Facebook, Upworthy, act.mtv.com, or other online sharing sites on Martin Luther King Day, you may have already seen "Don't Ask Me Why," by Great Caesar.

If the voices sounded familiar, that's because four of the five group members are DHHS alum. John-Michael Parker, Adam Glaser, Tom Sikes, and Mike Farrell all graduated from Daniel Hand High School. Sean Andrew, another Madison resident and DHHS alum, also played on the recording of "Don't Ask Me Why" and is featured in the video.

Farrell says if some of the scenes look familiar, there's a reason for that as well.

"We shot the video primarily in Madison: at DHHS, in our parents' backyards, in their houses. A few scenes were shot in Queens, NY, but we mainly wanted to make it a hometown effort!" Farrell said via email.

Wondering about the inspiration for the song? Check out this interview with John-Michael in Advocate magazine.

If you want to help support the group, you can download a copy of the song for $1 on Bandcamp at this link.
