Rainy, Cloudy Weather May Be On The Way

After a glorious few days of dry, sunny weather, Madison could see some rain over the weekend. The National Weather Service is predicting rainfall starting Friday or Friday afternoon, and then on and off through the week, interspersed with some periods of sunny weather.

Some forecasters are saying that we might get a nasty cold snap later this month, but for the next week, at least, temperatures are forecast to remain in the range of high 20's to high 40's.

Here is the extended forecast:

• Friday: A chance of rain after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Friday Night: Rain, mainly before 4am. Patchy fog after 10pm. Low around 36. Light southeast wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Saturday: A chance of rain before 7am. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 49. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 36. Calm wind.
• Sunday: A slight chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 53. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
• Sunday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Monday: A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 50. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Monday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
• Tuesday: A chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Tuesday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
• Wednesday: A chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 42. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
• Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 26.
• Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 36.
