Friends Of UPS Driver Want To Help Him After Fall

"You may not know his name, but you have seen him for years ... "

By Janice Briguglio

You may not know his name but you have seen him for years. Tim Mottram has been an UPS driver in Madison for the past 15 years.

Just after the Nor’easter a few weeks ago, Tim fell off his home's roof after climbing up to clear off branches. With his fall, he broke eight ribs and has several compression fractures. He is expected to be out of work for several months. Since Tim’s accident happened at home and not on the job, he does not qualify for sick time. He does receive a small stipend from his Union.

During this holiday season, we would like to bring a bit of Holiday Cheer to Tim, his wife and their three children. Please donate gift cards for Walmart, Stop & Shop, Target, CVS, etc. or cash to be given to him the week of Christmas.

Donations can be dropped off at Ciao Bella, 698 Boston Post Road or other participating retailers. Andrea Panullo at BellaPerlina also is raffling off a necklace worth $140, with a 100% of proceeds going to Tim and his family.

Oh my gosh, how sad! Tim also delivers to our home, and always leaves our dog a treat on top of the package. Will definitely drop off a gift card for Tim - glad to help in a very small way. Best wishes to Tim for a speedy recovery.

Tim's cheerful smile and funny stories always brighten our day at The Audubon Shop. He works hard, is always professional and obviously from the emails above, has a big heart and a lot of friends! We miss him. Do what you can to help he and his family through this rough patch, I know he'll appreciate it, no matter how small. Thanks to Janice for spearheading this, Tim is a one in a million guy. Donations and cards can be dropped off at The Audubon Shop, too.

So if you catch the flu at home, UPS does not pay sick time? Must be talking about Worker's Comp and not sick time. Hope you feel better soon Tim!

Coldwell Banker will be giving out free hot cider at the Madison Santa Paws Parade on Sunday. There will be a donation jar there for Tim. Please stop by! Also the agents in our office are taking up a collection for him. We hope the other agencies in town will do the same!

Must be worker's comp. His union is helping out a little, apparently, but he is due to be out for several weeks.
