Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Cochran!

Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Cochran of Madison recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on January 27, 1962 at the Old Stone Church in East Haven. They observed their anniversary by renewing their marriage vows.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Cochran of Madison recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple was married on January 27, 1962 at the Old Stone Church in East Haven.

Mr. Cochran retired as an accountant from Northeast Utilities Service Company. Mrs. Cochran is the former Carol Catalde and is a retired special education assistant, having worked in several area towns. She is also a registered nurse, graduating from the former Grace New Haven School of Nursing.

They are the parents of Jeanne Allie and son-in-law, David of Storrs, Susan Gerald of Groton and Scott Cochran and daughter-in-law, Laurie of Madison and they have seven grandchildren.

They observed their anniversary by renewing their marriage vows at the United Methodist Church of Branford where they were also attended by their original Maid of Honor, Mrs. Cochran’s sister, Janice Leiff and Best Man, Mr. Cochran’s brother-in-law, Ernest Vongher.

All their children, daughter-in-law and son-in-law and all seven grandchildren participated in their special service led by Rev. Y.S. Kim.

Following the service, Mr. and Mrs. Cochran hosted a dinner for family and friends in the church hall.
