Blogging: Conquering the Fear of Writing for an Audience

Blog about what you know and keep it simple.

One of the most challenging aspects of gaining visibility in the online world is the act of writing for an audience.

Similar to public speaking, writing can easily become an intimidating task. The wording has to be perfect. The sentences must be tightly edited. And what about typos?

The best advice to anyone who is looking to build an audience using Patch blogs is to write like you're talking to your neighbor. Keep it casual, but not too casual. And fortunately, Patch has spell check!

Patch is a place to share information with your community. If you have something to share but you don't have an hour to write 1,000 words, try condensing it to 100, or maybe even 50.

Or even better, let your photos do the talking!

Not blogging yet? Well, what are you waiting for?!? Create your own space on Madison Patch — don't just join the conversation, start one!
