Audubon Shop Announces Fall Schedule Of Bird Walks And Talks

Audubon Shop Bird Walks at Hammonasset Beach State Park Every Saturday Sept. 7 thru Nov. 23 8:00am - 10:30 am $4.00

Hammonasset is regarded as one of Connecticut’s premier birding sites in fall. Shorebirds, herons and other waders, songbirds, hawks, falcons, and owls will all be in our sites. Walks are geared towards beginners, all are welcome. Binoculars are necessary and rentals are available ($4.00 per day). Meet at The Audubon Shop at 7:50am for a prompt 8am departure. Carpool.

See our national symbol in the wild! Each winter Bald Eagles make their way down the Connecticut River from Canada in search of ice-free fishing. We'll observe these majestic birds from a variety of locations along the river. This is our 20th annual Eagle series and is usually sold out, so get your tix early. $20.00 includes a soup & sandwich luncheon at Oliver’s Tavern in Essex following the field trip. Reservations and payment must be made in advance. Tix will be available after Thanksgiving and make a great gift for the holidays. Limit 35 people. *Carpool from shop at 7:50am - or - meet at first stop (Eagle Landing State Park parking lot - Haddam) at 8:30am.
