34th  ANNUAL SOUND RUNNER MADISON TURKEY TROT DEDICATED TO EVENT DIRECTOR AND FRIEND DAVE PARCELLS

Dave Parcells, two-term Madison Jaycee President passed away suddenly in April of 2007. Dave was a loving and extremely involved father to his two children, a tremendous leader, fundraiser, and an inspiration to everyone he met. He was also the oldest person to swim an English Channel double-crossing, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars to benefit local charities. Dave touched and inspired the lives of everyone he knew, and will be deeply missed. In 1979 when this event began there were 22 participants. Now 34 years later we have exceeded 3,000 participants making us one of the largest road races in the State. It’s easy to see why. A beautiful flat looping course all within the grounds of Hammonasset Beach State Park. Be prepared to run your fastest 5 mile race of the year. Long sleeve t-shirts are guaranteed to the first 2,000 pre-registered runners and walkers, great post race party and refreshments, Separate run and walk courses, Certified Course and ChampionChip timing. All net proceeds go to various charities in the local area.
