Singles sailing club welcomes new members; many summertime water events left to enjoy

The summer sailing season is in full swing and the Shoreline Sailing Club, under the leadership of a crew of five officers, has scheduled many events on the water.

“Our club is composed of an active group of single people over 35 who enjoy sailing, boating and socializing, said Commodore Brad Flicken, a resident of Old Lyme. “Events are planned for every weekend, with good weather, good winds and good friends. Overnight, day and evening sails abound, scheduled to harbors around eastern Long Island Sound and beyond.”

Throughout the year the club has other activities such as dances and dinners, and meetings are held year-round at 7:30 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of every month at the Westbrook Elks Lodge, 142 Seaside Ave, Westbrook.
