Madison Cares Is Now: Raise the Roof

Madison Cares/Habitat for Humanity has changed its name to "Raise the Roof…Your Shoreline Habitat Connection."

Since its founding in 2003, Raise the Roof (formerly Madison Cares) has raised over $500,000 to help build nine Habitat houses in New Haven.

The 10th build on Greenwood Street, under the Raise the Roof banner, had its groundbreaking on March 23 with 35 people attending.

Raise the Roof supporters and members of the Habitat for Humanity Board met the future homeowners.

Madison Cares/Habitat for Humanity has changed its name to Raise the Roof…Your Shoreline Habitat Connection. The change is in response to the significant participation from towns along the shoreline in the efforts of the Madison-based group. From Branford to Clinton, individuals, churches, civic organizations, and banks and other businesses have embraced the cause of Habitat for Humanity and built houses in New Haven with Habitat partner families
