Anyone in the Know...Police Dept?

Why is there a pink tape line blocking the entrance to the Rte 79 Rockland Preserve hiking/biking trails? It's been there a few days & now someone has added a tail of police tape. But it doesn't look like an official police blocking with pink tape! Is this someone's April Fool's joke? Is it just to block cars from the lot or hikers on foot, too? Our police department should put up a sign if it's their tape, as this is a popular spot and a warm spring weekend is coming up.
