Reference Librarian, Anne O'Connor of the Scranton Library in Madison is delighted to purchase new gardening books for the Scranton Library. As the official Garden Book Selector, Anne purchases more than two dozen new books annually with funds donated by the Garden Club of Madison.
Anne has worked at the Library for more than five years and enjoys the camaraderie of her peers and working with the public. She is a member of the Scranton Library "Good'Nuff" Garden Club and designs and maintains the barrels outside the library with her peers on staff.
National Garden Club Member, Shirley Green and Member of the Federated Garden Club Gardening Consultants' Council and Master Gardener, Julianne Derken meet to choose their favorite titles to add to the shelves of the library.
Many new titles were added, including books on container gardening, heirloom vegetable gardens, Bonsai and artistic design.
