I live on Green Hill, and while I understand the need to protect power lines, the process ofRead Morechoosin g trees to removed seems random. Why are some trees being cut down, but other large trees left as they were? It would have been nice to have some kind of notice or explanation before all of the work started. I certainly don't want to relive the power outages we had after the last two hurricanes, but I do think it wouldn't have been hard for the town and/or CL&P to communicate with the neighborhoods where the trees are being removed.

Madison does have a tree warden. I was told by the Town Hall that his name is Bob (Robert) KushtaRead More( sp?) and his phone number is (203) 245 5632. I was told by our selectman that he has the job of working with CL&P for our town. I would love to have improved communication on this. Which trees are going to be cut down (who determines this and who knows the plan?), how is it determined ? (according to our experience from the last storms- what types of trees pose the most hazard?), what are my rights? (apparently as someone described- you can ask for the stumps to be removed and a replacement with the "right" kind of tree?) . None of this is obvious to me from what has been done to date in town or elsewhere. We also have to realize that the folks executing the plan are a large network of subcontractors to CL&P.

Ellen. Bob Kuchta (AKA Elvis). Also the trees to be removed are marked with red plastic tape.
